Update 10/28/2020: We have received notice from the Tri-County Health Department that Adams County will move into Level 3 Safer at Home starting Wednesday, October 28th at 5 p.m, however, the decision was made not to move forward with closing gym facilities.  Our protocols are and remain based on guidance from CDC, U.S., local health and government organizations, and YMCA of Denver Corporate.

The current protocol and plan recommended and facilitated by the YMCA of Denver are effective October 28th, 2020 at 5:00 P.M. as follows: Gyms in counties under Safer At Home: Level 3 COVID-19 restrictions can continue indoor fitness, according to updated rules from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). Gyms can now operate indoors at 25% capacity, or 25 people, whichever is fewer. Prior to Tuesday, gyms in these counties would have to hold classes outside or virtually. Read more details here
Gym usage changes:

  • NEW maximum capacities will be 5 total for both fitness centers.
  • BC Fitness Center will continued to be monitored for usage
  • Mask usage and capacities will be strongly monitored and enforced between the two facilities.
  • 3 strike policy is implemented if residents are caught without a mask or breaking capacity policies. Key card access will be turned off.

The Venture Center will resume normal staff and gym hours. The Fitness Center will also resume normal gym hours (4am-10pm) each day.
As recommendations and direction continue to be reviewed and updated, information will be distributed via email and posted online.

Update 10/27/2020: Adams County Covid-19 incidence rates are almost double the level needed to stay in Level 2 of Safer at Home and hospitalizations are rising statewide, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) will move the county into Level 3 of Safer at Home on the state’s dial in hopes to quickly reduce the spread of the virus. With this change, all gyms will be closed for usage effective Wednesday October 28th at 5pm. It is unclear how long the closures will remain but the YMCA will closely monitor this and will re-open facilities as soon as allowed. The Venture Center will remain staffed Monday – Friday 9am-8pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am-5pm to assist with resident questions and key card/account set up. Please check out these virtual at home workouts!

Update 06/08/2020: Playgrounds are now open. Guidelines from the State recommend a capacity of 10 people at a time – as such signage has been posted at the parks with capacity limits noted. Please maintain 6 feet distance from members of other households and capacity limits. Equipment is not sanitized.

Updated 06/04/2020: As you may have heard the Governor announced that pools can open, and we are anticipating the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment will release further personal recreation guidance for outdoor pools, recreation centers, and playgrounds on Thursday, June 4th. This is good news! However, there is more to this than just opening the doors. The latest email blast with all the current details can be found here.

This post will be updated when next week’s email blast with further details regarding Venture Center & Pool operations, anticipated to begin June 15th, is released.

Updated 05/29/2020: Although the State has announced some outdoor pool guidelines, at this time the Public Health Order still states public pools are to remain closed. As with other businesses and places being allowed to re-open you can imagine that when the pool does open this summer your experience will be very different than past summers. We are doing everything we can to get prepared in the event we are given the green light to open. We are making every effort to abide by the safety recommendations and still be able to provide the community with some recreational opportunities. June 15th is a hopeful date of opening, but is subject to approval and being able to get the necessary supplies for sanitation requirements.
